Ahem. A quick edit here. That quick trip to Publix took us an hour and we spent nearly $200. Ouch. We've over budget this month. I decided to go ahead and include all of my husband's Atkins needs in our budget, because it's obviously a part of our food budget. Asterisks denote things bought purely because he needs them on his diet plan.

for a total spent so far for June of $563.26 :(
Well.... at least some of the things will last longer than June. Still...we're going to end up way over budget for the month.
You amaze me with your frugal shopping skills! I was ecstatic when I found pork back ribs for $1.90 a pound and a 1.34 lbs piece of top sirloin for $4 today! I even thought about you when I bought them..talk about a deal.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great week for buying meat...it's Memorial Day weekend so cuts of meat are going to be found cheaply. It's BBQ season! :o) Congrats on your good finds. I hope I get lucky at Publix tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI don't use coupons either. It's not really do able here in southwestern canada like I've heard people do it in the eastern states. I got a good deal on lean ground beef today 1.79/pound in 5 pound tubes, so I'll split it up in meal size portions to freeze and they had some steaks on sale so I bought a bunch of those. I spent $60 and that will be about 23 meals for my family....not to bad. no holiday weekend for us so no good meat deals!
